Destiny 2, the sequel to the popular first-person shooter from Bungie, has long been rumored to bring in entirely new features to the game. Although the studios confirmed the sequel during the PlayStation Experience earlier this month, they failed to give any major updates.
Bungie lately confirmed one of the several rumors by announcing that Vicarious Visions is helping Bungie “further expand” the Destiny franchise. Vicarious Visions is the Activision studio known for developing several video games. It led Skylanders development on alternate years, and is working on the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy. The New York-based game developer would be joining the Destiny 2 development team to speed the game release for 2017.
Destiny 2 New Features
The confirmation of Vicarious Visions gives further credence to the September rumors surrounding Destiny 2. Back in September, someone claiming to have inside information leaked details of the sequel, disclosing a number of exciting new changes.

Rumors point to the game developers starting the next game from scratch. Destiny 2 is expected to be developed like a proper sequel, leaving old planets, characters and activities behind. This means that the upcoming game will not allow players to carry over their old characters.
Destiny 2 is instead expected to introduce a generation of Guardians and Subclasses. The Destiny franchise has been criticized for its lack of RPG elements, but the sequel is said to have a more deeper RPG-focused class system. Having one subclass means more customization options and as such, a bigger world. Fans also expect that Bungie will let them interact with other players in Destiny 2, which will happen with the introduction of the dialogue choice system.
Reports have indicated that Bungie would include bigger and better planet destinations with towns and outposts this time. The second installment of the franchise would make each planet feel more like a complete destination, with their own missions and storylines in store for players. Rumors indicate that the game might be set on either Jupiter or Saturn.

Destiny 2 PC Version
In addition, the Destiny 2 is rumored to come for PC gamers too. Bungie posted a job listing for a World Design Tester and is looking for individuals who have experience testing multiple game platforms such as PS4, Xbox One and PC. This has led to speculation that the sequel will finally be coming to the PC platform. Releasing Destiny 2 on PC will certainly give Bungie access to a giant new potential audience.
However, Kotaku has said that Destiny 2 won’t be coming to the older consoles. This is a huge disappointment for the gaming fans expecting the sequel to launch on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Destiny 2 Release Date
Originally scheduled for the September 2016 launch, Bungie confirmed that Destiny 2 will released sometime in 2017. The developers, however, have failed to give a concrete release date so far. The developers are reportedly targeting a Fall release. Rumors have it that Destiny 2 would be available in September 2017 at the earliest.
