“The Ringed City,” the second and final downloadable content (DLC) expansion for the video game “Dark Souls 3” is scheduled to be released next week, on March 28. In the meantime, game developer FromSoftware has unveiled new player-versus-player (PvP) arenas that will arrive for the “Ashes of Ariandel” DLC and the Season Pass on March 24.
Game publisher Bandai Namco previously confirmed that the two new arenas are the Dragon Ruins, which appears to be very similar to the Archdragon Peak area in the main “Dark Souls 3” game, and the Grand Roof arena, which is based on the Lothric Castle.
With these two new arenas, gamers will be able to brush up on their combat skills before they make the dangerous journey to Londor once “The Ringed City” DLC arrives.
“The Ringed City” DLC of “Dark Souls 3” focuses around a player traveling to the city of Londor, which is the home of the Sable Church and several characters in the video game such as Yoel of Londor, Sable Church member Yuria and Sister Friede, the main antagonist in the “Ashes of Ariandel” DLC.
The upcoming DLC will come with a new player-versus-environment (PvE) content for “Dark Souls 3” as well as new weapons, armors, bosses and areas. The new multiplayer feature arriving with this DLC will allow players to team up while fighting random enemies.
Among the new weapons and items that will be introduced with the upcoming update are the Giant Door Shield, the Lightning Arrow, Projected Heal Miracles, Lothric Banner, Dragon Shield and the Ringed Knight Straight Sword.
Based on “The Ringed City” DLC footage released recently, the upcoming paid expansion will feature an intense boss battle and more. And since it will be final “Dark Souls 3” expansion update, it is expected that defeating the new enemies to be introduced with the update will be very challenging.
“Dark Souls 3” is currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. “The Ringed City” DLC expansion for “Dark Souls 3” releases on Tuesday, March 28.
