Texas’ first 365 by Whole Foods Market will open its doors 9 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Park, but the party starts on Sunday with a kick-off celebratory week and parking lot party from 1-4 p.m.
Celebrations will follow throughout the week for the 30,000-square-foot bargain store in The Parke retail space, and opening day will feature live music by Austin band Shinyribs. Five percent of the day’s proceeds will benefit the Thinkery nonprofit children’s museum in Austin.
The opening is the beginning of an initiative from the organic retailer to extend the ease of shopping for healthy food at an affordable price while offering an exciting atmosphere centered around design, technology and ethos.
The low-cost store will offer a selection of fresh produce, ready-to-go prepared foods, grocery items and retail innovations that will make grocery shopping more of an experience rather than a chore. The store will also host two full-service eateries such as Austin’s local bakery and beer garden, Easy Tiger, and local favorite JuiceLand for a special treat before or after shopping.
