How do I get legendary shards in Destiny 2?
The first way you can obtain legendary shards is by dismantling your Legendary or Exotic gear.
Dismantling a legendary item will give you two shards, whilst an exotic item will give you ten shards.
You can also occasionally be rewarded them by decrypting faction engrams when you level up your rank with faction vendors.
