Last week, Ho Oh was made available for capture but he’s now competing for affection against the 50 brand new Pokémon which will soon be added to the game.
Which Generation 3 Pokémon are available and what’s in the next update?
More creatures will be made available from Generation 3’s region Hoenn soon.
Fifty brand new pocket monsters are beginning to appear on screens around the world including Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip.
Although the full list hasn’t yet been confirmed, Niantic have revealed that Swablu, Wailord, Salamence and Feebas will be catchable.
The update will also see the game reflect real-life weather patterns whereever you are.
The weather will also change what types of Pokémon you will see, for example, if it is raining you will be more likely to see a Mudkip than when it’s sunny.
How do you catch Ho Oh?
Ho Oh now features in Pokémon Go as part of a Raid as we have seen in other legendary Pokémon events.
You will need a full squad of 20 trainers to take part in this raid and to actually stand a chance of capturing this crazy powerful Pokémon.
Legendary Pokémon are usually available for a month but this one is only available from November 28 to Tuesday, December 12.
This means you only have two weeks to gather your group of trainers and hunt the Pokémon down.
You will find Ho Oh appearing at Gyms in your area and the Raid is available for everyone meaning you will not need an EX Raid pass.

What are the best Pokémon to use against Ho Oh?
Ho Oh is a Fire and Flying type Pokémon, which means that you will be best off using Ground, Water or Electric type Pokémon.
Rock types are twice as effective against Ho Oh, and so any strong rock Pokémon in your collection, such as Golem, would come in very useful.
