Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event Guide

Just below, you can see the announcement video from the Overwatch dev team, revealing that the Winter Wonderland event would be returning to the game. This isn’t the first time that an Overwatch event from the previous year has returned, as the Halloween Terror event made a comeback in October.

Existing maps in the game, like Hanamura and King’s Row will be getting a winter makeover, just like they did in last year’s winter event, and Mei’s snowball fight event will now be playable in both the Antarctica and Black Forest maps.

Overwatch Winter Wonderland Event End Date and Time

The Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is live right now, having kicked off back on December 12 for players around the globe. On December 14, Blizzard announced that the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 event will be coming to a close on January 1, 2018. Although we don’t have a confirmed end time for the event right now, we’ll be updating this guide whenever we hear any new information on an end time tomorrow.

Now that the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 event has finally begun, we’ve compiled a list of all the brand new Legendary skins available for characters right now, featured just below:

We should also note that as with the Halloween Terror event in October, skins that debuted during last year’s event will be making a return.

This means that is you didn’t pick up the skins that were available for the Winter Wonderland event in 2016, you’ll have a second chance at grabbing them come December 12. These skins include McCree, Tracer, Pharah, Roadhog, Torbjorn, and more.

Overwatch Winter Wonderland Yeti Hunt Brawl Mode

While Mei’s Snowball Offensive is back from the Winter Wonderland event last year, the new mode of Yeti Hunt is the featured Brawl of 2017’s event. In the mode, five Mei “Hunters” group up to take down one “Yeti” Winston, the latter of which has an increased amount of health and damage.

The Winston wins if the player manages to eliminate all five of the Mei players, but the Mei players win the match if they can eliminate the single Winston just once. The Yeti Hunt takes place on a reskinned version of the Nepal Village map, and while the Winston has increased health and armor, the Mei players have their Ice Block and Ice Wall abilities reduced.

Overwatch Happy Hero Days Event

In the runup to Christmas this year, Overwatch is conducting the ‘Happy Hero Days’ event on the social media side of things. If you head over to the official Overwatch twitter page, the account is giving away prizes every day from December 11, starting with a D.Va statue.

Keep an eye on the Overwatch twitter page over the coming eleven days, as they’ll be giving away different prizes related to the game every day.

This is all the complete information we have right now on the Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2017 event, but make sure to keep checking back on this guide, as we’ll have the full details for all the new content coming to the game, as soon as we hear anything.
