New PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Patch Improves Server Performance

Before the developers got the full list of patch notes in a post on the game’s Steam Community page, they apologized for some of the more prevalent lag and character position issues players have been facing since the game’s launch.

The first PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds update since the game’s official PC launch on december 20 is now live with more bug fixes and an apology from the developer over game performance. Players can now only view game replays from 3 minutes after death.

Reduced occurrences of the issue where replays occasionally crashed back to the lobby screen. While today’s update promises further optimization of servers, the team is expected to run more internal tests, before deploying further updates that target these issues.

That path toward fixing those issues permanently begins with this patch, as Bluehole has “removed some inefficiencies in server infrastructure and optimized in-game servers to alleviate the problem”.

Furthermore, resuming a replay will take you to where you left off, so you no longer need to watch them from the beginning.
