Overwatch update 2.29 adds new Blizzard World map

Overwatch update 2.29 has been served up today for PS4, PC, and Xbox One, Blizzard Entertainment has announced. This latest patch adds a bunch of new cosmetic items and also a new map, Blizzard World, available in Quick Play and Custom Game matches.

The Assault/Escort map marries various worlds from Blizzard history in a theme park-like setting, with players tasked with defending the payload across Azeroth, Tristram, and Koprulu Sector. Think of it as a bit like the World of Warcraft developer’s take on Disney World.

Elsewhere, Overwatch’s loot boxes have been kitted out with over 100 new cosmetic items inspired by Blizzard World, Overwatch animated shorts, and more. As such, you can now scoop up new legendary skins such as Barbarian Zarya, Black Cat D.Va, Crusader Reinhardt, Ecopoint: Antarctica Mei, and Kabuki Hanzo.

In addition, players can obtain fresh emotes including Mercy’s Parasol, Sambra’s Marioneta, and Tracey’s Bomb Spin. Finally, Blizzard has fixed a few key bugs, including one regarding weapon accuracy displaying at 100 percent while on the career profile.

Alice was rather taken with Blizzard’s shooter when it came out back in May 2016, so have a butcher’s at her review to find out why. Humorously, Overwatch was recently blamed for a dip in YouPorn traffic during the game’s League event.
